Why Most Magnetic Calendars End Up in a Drawer

The fridge is the most valuable surface in household marketing: high traffic, long dwell, and a place people look when they need a number. A magnetic calendar is the only reliable way to claim it, and most of them fail within a month.

Failure one: corner magnets

Strip magnets at the corners let the middle of the sheet lift. Once a corner curls the calendar looks scruffy, and a scruffy thing on a fridge door gets removed within days.

A full-coverage magnetic back holds the whole sheet flat for twelve months. It costs slightly more per unit and it is the entire difference between the format working and not.

Failure two: no lamination

A kitchen is a wet environment. Splashes, condensation and wiping all reach a fridge door, and unlaminated print blisters and stains fast.

Gloss or matte lamination survives all of it. A dry-wipe laminate goes further and turns the calendar into something people write on, which multiplies how often they look at it.

Failure three: it is too much about you

A fridge door is a personal space and people curate it. A magnetic calendar that is mostly logo reads as an advert and gets taken down; one that is mostly a usable calendar with your details discreetly along the bottom stays up.

The number is what you actually want people to see, and they will find it when they need it. It does not need to be the largest thing on the sheet.

What to put on it

A clear month grid with enough writing space. Local school terms or bin collection dates if you know them — genuinely useful information is what earns the space. Your name, number and one line of what you do along the bottom edge.

Nothing else. Every additional element competes with the reason somebody kept it.

Mailing them

Full-back magnetic calendars mail flat at letter rate in most cases, which is what makes a large local mailing viable. Tell us your mailing format before we quote and we will keep the finished thickness inside it.

A magnetic calendar that has to go as a large letter costs meaningfully more to post than to print, which is the kind of thing worth catching early.

Who this format is for

Trades, home services, estate agents, takeaways, vets, dentists, schools — anyone whose customer is a household and whose service is needed unpredictably. If somebody has to find your number in a hurry, this is the format that puts it where they will look.
